Spikes Flaming Sun Zoanthid is a vibrant yellow centered, forest green to purple ring, and bright orange skirt which we have placed on a plug, disc, or live rock rubble for you to purchase. I am sorry I cannot seem to capture the yellow centers, they come off as creme in the image.The yellow centers resembles the sun with solar flares igniting from its surface. Very unigue zoanthid, I have not seen one like it before.

Spikes Flaming Sun requires a medium to high light level combined with a medium water movement within the aquarium. Each zoanthid has different lighting requirements. Start your new purchase near the bottom of your system and monitor its health and color. A zoanthids color will fade if it receives too much light or not enough light. So start your zoanthid near the bottom of your reef and slowly raise it toward the lights. Monitor the zoa after each move for 4-5 days. If the color changes or fades move it further down in the aquarium. Enough current is needed to carry nutrients to the colony. For continued good health, they will also require the addition of iodine and other trace elements, along with food such as phytoplankton, marine snow, or other foods for filter feeders.

They will reproduce easily under the right conditions by budding ( splitting at base of polyp) and spread over surrounding rocks in the reef aquarium.
